Hand-Colored Postcards:
This gallery shows hand-colored postcards. The images are the work of E. L. Merrow, C. E. Vale, E. C. Eddy, and John Hemmer. Black and white images were hand-colored by various individuals, and sold as postcards. The Tufts Archives has a collection of over 500 different cards. View gallery.
Maps:
This gallery features maps of Moore County, North Carolina locales, from before the village of Pinehurst was started, throughout its growth. Most of the maps are of the village and were drawn by Rassie Wicker, and were periodically updated to show the developing areas over the years. lso shown is the original 1895 street layout from the offices of Olmsted, Olmsted & Elliot. Outlook Covers:
The “Pinehurst Outlook” was the Pinehurst newspaper, started in 1897, and owned and published by James Walker Tufts. In the beginning, The Outlook was published weekly during the season. For several years, the first issue of the season featured an Art Deco type drawing on the cover. xamples of these covers are showcased in this gallery. View gallery.
Miscellaneous Graphics:
Over the years, the Tufts family created numerous graphic materials for marketing and advertising the village and the resort. This gallery shows some of these graphic designs, including the Pinehurst Golf Lad, now known as the Putterboy. View gallery.
